Stiltz lifts are powered by a small and very quiet self-contained electric motor located above the lift and they plug into a standard 13-amp socket. To operate the lift, you must keep the power button depressed and there are two remote controls to call the lift or send it remotely.

A battery-backup system will come into operation if a power cut occurs while using the lift. This will bring it safely down to the lower level. Other safety features include internal LED lights which automatically come on when you enter and sensors which detect any obstacles in the path.
