Stairlifts Derby

One of the major challenges of reduced mobility is access to different levels of one’s home, or access to locations in residential or commercial premises that only has stairs. Stairlifts Derby solves this problem and they are a lot easier to have installed than you may think – and a lot cheaper with our amazing prices.

The best choice for you will depend on your home, types of stairs and your budget. The main two types of stairs are straigth and curved – and you need the different model of stairlift to fit your stairs.

Straight Stairlifts Derby

Straight stairlifts are the cheapest option and they start from approx £800. They require a straight staircase, and most run on their own rail, attached the stairs themselves and not the wall. As they don’t require a custom installation (apart from the length of the rail), you can expect a straight stairlift to be installed in around a day, which is also the reason for them being cheaper than a curved stype. Stairlifts Derby can be basic to reduce cost, but as technology has advanced, features such as variable speeds, adjustable seat heights and soft starts and stops have become popular. Choose a straight stairlift if you have straight stairs.

Curved Stairlifts Derby

If you have curved stairs, you will require curved stairlift Derby. These are more expensive that a straight stairlift, as they have to be custom-made to conform to your particular stair. As they are custom-built, the price is quite different for each installation. As an estimate, you can expect to pay between £2,000 to £5,000 for a complete curved stair installation, from design and manufacture through to installation and testing by an engineer. Expect to pay more for a complex stair with multiple bends than a simple curved stair.

Let’s take a closer look at a lift and the features…

There are many different makes, models and types available and we have looked at a few of the most popular so that you can get an idea of what you are looking for, its best to request a brochure using the form above so you can have more information and prices..

  • The seat is fully padded including the backrest. This therefore makes it comfortable for the user.
  • The lift is operated by a directional ‘joy stick’ like switch. This makes it very easy to use even by those you may have limited mobility.
  • Folds away so that the stairs are still fully accessible to other people in the home or for visitors. The arms, seats and foot rest all fold up and make the stairlift even more compact.
  • Installation is easy as the rail is a modular system. This enables it to be installed in a reduced timeframe and also means there is never a need to have repairs carried out.

Numerous extra features which include a lockable switch so that no-one else can use the lift. This is particualry good if children maybe tempted to use the curved stairlift without supervision! There is also the ability to call or send the lift to the top or bottom of the stairs, for example if there are two users in the one home this can also be operated using a remote control handset.
