Hi my name is Alison S from Halifax, West Yorkshire I became disabled in 2012, with an Autistic Spectrum Condition and a rare physical disability Ehlers Danlos Syndrome. I discovered that society places many barriers and obstacles to accessing life and public services that we take for granted. After 11 years of feeling lost with increasing pain and fatigue – my disabilities were taking over my life with little support available. Finding out how to access advice, funding and support is complicated and wasted a lot of my time, adding to my frustrations at becoming newly disabled. www.disabilityroadmap.co.uk will be a positive, empowering online resource where all this information can be found in one simple, easy to navigate welcoming place.
