What are the different types of WAV's?

You may well be new to the world of wheelchair accessible vehicles Noth Wales and wondering what the different types available are, so here we look at the three main types of disabled vehicles:

  • Passenger - probably the most common type of adapted vehicle is where the wheelchair user remains seated in their own wheelchair in the rear of the vehicle.

  • Internal Transfer - access to the car is via a lift or ramp but the wheelchair is then positioned next to an existing seat or the drivers seat so the user can transfer easily.

  • Drive From Wheelchair - this is exactly as it says, you drive the car from the wheelchair! - access is either from the rear or side of the car and you can move and position right up to the driving position.
